Tiger Woods came out strong this past weekend in New Jersey and fell off the lead quickly. He regained his putter on Sunday but still came up short as far as the victory goes. But what Tiger was able to accomplish was to qualify for the next round of the FedEx Cup in Boston this weekend, and in doing so, maybe saved the PGA for another week.

Fore!
A story on golf not involving Tiger Woods? And it has the sports' world buzzing? In a sport where fans can call in rules violations and there are only out of bounds if you can't hit your ball, the rules have come into play in this past weekend's PGA Championship. Dustin Johnson hit his first shot far right into the crowd and approached the ball. Set his club, took a practice swing, and then eventually hit the ball. PGA ruled it a 2-stroke violation, thus costing him a chance at the championship.

I'm not the biggest golf fan. I'll watch it occasionally, but I am more apt to watch it if Tiger is playing. Why else would I be writing about golf right now if it were not for Tiger? Just look at the numbers, I wasn't the only one rooting for him, although I may be one of the few willing to admit it.
Final round coverage of the Masters was up 36% compared to last year's. Sure, it is the Tiger factor in which no matter what event it is, if Tiger is close, more people will watch. Ok great, but it was the 3rd highest overnight rating in golf history. Again, maybe it was because it was the Masters and people were eager to see Phil win?

Akon has to be proud of Tiger Woods. Tiger basically took Akon's song and spit us back out to us. Akon famously said, "If I can't apologize for being wrong, then its just a shame on me. I'll be the reason for your pain, and you can put the blame on me." Tiger Woods apologized to you, to me, to the guy who works at 7-11, and even that kid down the street who rides his bike in the snow. Tiger apologized to all of us for the pain he has caused, but why?
I really expereinced no pain, I'm not going to lie. There was no need to apologize to me, but I appreciate the consideration. I would have been happy with a 3 minute speech instead of a 13.5 minute speech in which Tiger simply apologized to the PGA and the people he worked with and set a timetable for his return. Instead he dragged me and the public through 13.5 minutes of garbage. I'm not buying the juice.

If you still care about Tiger Woods, here is an email that I got from a buddy. Take it for what its worth.
"I have a Member who lives 10 houses down from Tiger in Isleworth. As we know Tiger's agent is Mark Steinberg. My Member plays golf and is real good friends with another IMG Agent; who is very good friends with Steinberg and they share the same office. This information came from the other IMG Agent to my Member, and then to me today, and according to them is up to date as yesterday when my Member left Orlando .
On Thanksgiving Day, after he and Elin and the family had Turkey Dinner, he spent the rest of the afternoon on the couch watching football and texting Rachel.. After each received and sent text message he would clear his message box to rid himself of the evidence. Sometime in between there, one of his Orlando buds called him to see if he wanted to get together at the Clubhouse to play poker with the guys, to which Tiger said yes. Tiger left the house around 7:30 to go play poker, and left behind his cell phone....and one message he had forgot to delete from Rachel.
