Yes, this is an extremely premature season recap for the Red Sox. I know, I sound like a huge pessimist. Well it’s not just that. It is almost NFL season and that's the only real talk during the fall. But lets be realistic. The Sox are in third place in the group of death. Sure it’s soccer talk but its true. I mean as I write this article right now, The Yankees and Rays are tied at 77 - 48. The Sox are 5.5 games behind them at 72 - 54. The Sox are a half game behind of Minnesota who leads their division, and a game ahead of Texas who lead their division. Not that it matters statistic matters, because the top 2 teams in the AL, one of them will be a wild card team.

Best Catch?
I don't feel like talking about the Red Sox and if they are out of it yet. I don't feel like exploring the Cowboys/Bengals preseason game. So I'll go with some old news from last week. I have been MIA, therefore any news I post on this site is considered new news.

So everyone knows about these children actors who have a breakout role as a child and are loved by all. They then follow through and do some other movies, but being so young and vulnerable (imagine Leopold “Butters” Stotch”) their down fall is usually before they can legally drive a car. Corruption seeps into these children’s lives....or they just finally figure out about drugs. You are most likely thinking to yourself, where in gods name is this story going. Well, I do not feel guilty for Macaulay Culkin. Instead I started looking into my favorite childhood sports movies. I then started looking at children’s whose breakthrough came in these favorites of mine.

Every Time a Bat Swings, an Angel gets its wings
After last year’s long season filled with a disabled list that basically needed to be printed on an Egyptian scroll, not to mention a disheartening slump to start off this year’s season, the New York Metropolitans have finally developed a strong line-up. The return of Jose Reyes, addition of Ike Davis, acquirement of Jeff Francoeur, Rod Barajas, and Jason Bay, and of course David Wright finding his rhythm have all pushed the days of D. Wright being the only bat fans could depend on far away. With the return of Carlos Beltran quickly approaching, METS fans are looking forward to more opportunity to get this line-up going. But let’s be honest here, with Beltran’s return there will be a loss somewhere in the line-up that may or may not be for the better.
